Lessons of my Life

In my 16 years of life, I have learned;

No matter how much I prepare to present, I never feel prepared when I actually have to.

When changing schools, there is always that one weird person that will work hard to make you feel welcomed, and then becomes your best friend.

It is always important to think before speaking because one wrong word can sound dumb. Then your friends never let you live it down

I am murderous when I am forced to wake up too early after having a restless night, but when waking up at will, I feel strangely rejuvenated.

A soft blanket and a squishy pillow along with a comfy bed or couch make life great.

You can choose your name, but then are not happy when people begin calling you by it.

Having my moms first name made me feel old.

People I had met when I was younger I have eventually ran into them again years later.

Music makes life bearable in dark moments because it allows an easy escape to another world.

Honesty can be rather hurtful, but it is better to hear it then a lie.

In movies, the villains always have a sad story, which caused them to become the way they are. This is also true in real life.

The villain in real life never dresses in dark clothes and speaks strangely. He normally looks sweet.

Coffee with extra shots before a test does not end well because the mind thinks to much.

Watching sad movies is great for getting stuff of ones chest, especially for those times you want to cry but don’t.

Horror movies are terrible to watch by yourself because you begin to imagine every little noise. Though when watching a horror movie with a friend, it becomes twice as scary because your friend is trying to scare you.

The quote “sticks and stones may brake my bones, but words will never hurt me,” is a big lie. Sure sticks and stones can break bones, but words hurt more than physical pain.

There are those days when I blurt out words that make since in my own head but no one else gets. Luckily my friends understand and don’t judge.

Lost Toy

When a child loses a toy, it is sad, but it happens. According to the GoodNewsNetwork, Kim Lane was working one day when a customer came in with a toy, which had been left behind. The toy was a given to military children when their parent was sent overseas. Kim posted the lost toy on Facebook hoping to return the lost toy. After some time, she found a two-year-old boy who the doll belonged to. He was glad to be reunited with his doll that when pressed said "Hey buddy, it's dada. I miss you and I love you."
Toys are often valuable to children because they represent something important, in this boy’s case; it was a way to be connected to his dad. The fact that a lady wanted to find the boy to return his lost toy is an act of kindness. Normally a person would not care that a child lost a toy since it is something that happens every day. Children loose toys and eventually move on from them. How thoughtful was Kim over a simple artifact. This brings happiness to me.

Regulating Stem Cells

Cells are a marvelous aspect that makes up all living creatures. Stem cells possess the incredible ability to develop into distinct cells in the human body. This miraculous cell can help paralyzed patients regain the use of non-usable limbs; they can even help a blind person regain the ability to see. Officials are investigating how stem cells can be used in medical procedures; they are working hard making sure they cause no harm to patients. Last week, in Bethesda, Maryland the topic over the regulation of human cells was discussed. Due to the public submitting their own opinion, pleading of allowing sick patients with regenerative medicine has been considered. These people believe designated stem cell therapist can help. Other people disagree with the use of stem cells since it is an unproved treatment. These people believe that stem cell therapies cause harm. According to Administration's website, "Stem cells, like other medical products that are intended to treat, cure or prevent disease, generally require FDA approval before they can be marketed. FDA has not approved any stem cell-based products for use, other than cord blood-derived hematopoietic progenitor cells for certain indicators," this informs us that Stem Cells have not been yet approved of, which allows for argument if they are legal to use. Even so many stem cell clinics have risen across the country.

Personally, I believe that if there is some miraculous way in which victims of paralysis or even eyesight loss can regain their functions, it should be used. I do however believe that there should be some way in which a person can be told if they are receptive to this medical treatment. Obviously, it is not for all, since there are risks to this procedure. A patient willingly consents to the possibilities of what could happen during an operation. If there was a chance to cure the impossible The test prove that this process could be very helpful but untested. Before being completely accepted, if should first be approved of by the FDA. The whole population will never truly accept stem cells, but to those who are willing to go on with this medical treatment, it is available to them.
